I’ve been where you are…

Navigating being a mom to a brand new baby, avoiding the baby blues, and staying above water.

As a single mother of four with one being special needs, running a small business, riding the waves of toddlerhood, and school age. I'm THAT mom filling up my cup at the end of the day by telling myself, "I'm pretty bad ass woman".

In 2020, I gave birth to my fourth babe and focused on being a present parent (x2), I lost that opportunity to be fully present with my other children as I worked long hours at the hospital with a title that accumulated so much of my time. My children need me in this time of them being little, vulnerable, and learning about themselves.

So I closed that chapter, knowing I was ready for new beginnings. Everything about motherhood brought so much light into my world. I found myself trying to photograph and record every moment with my children (of course, I was on the other side of the camera because it was just me). The sentimental moments I didn't want to lose were just happening too fast.

I knew my fourth baby would be the last (crossed fingers) and I kept asking myself... "How are moms holding onto these sentimental pieces as a reminder ..if they are stored away and not touched for months?"

It clicked right then… I couldn't be the only mama thinking this.

I made the decision to start The Empowered Mama to help moms empower motherhood with beautiful custom handmade jewelry to commemorate their journey.

As a mother, we face day-to-day challenges during postpartum, breastfeeding, the newborn phase, toddler phase, and further. I thought I was crazy to feel so emotionally attached to every small moment and to keep any and every sentimental piece for each of my children. And one night, it just clicked. I wondered if any other moms were doing the same. That's when I launched this small shop.
